Subscription Problem

Writer's picture: Lawrence LoreLawrence Lore

Unbeknownst to us our daily blogs were not being sent . . .daily. I was traveling over the holidays and everyone else though I was not posting any. John King apparently thinks I sit around at night personally sending out 606 emails.)  Anyway, there was no cause for alarm until I returned, and we discovered the problem.

The problem seems to be . . . MONEY.  Isn’t it always?  Apparently, the company we use to email the blogs decided that we were exceeding a specified monthly number (unknown to us) in December, so they stopped sending the emails about December 20. So, you, the readers, stopped getting the blog.  And you missed all the great Christmas posts.

HOWEVER, you can still read them . . . albeit late . . .on the website lawrencelore.org. Just look for the “Blog” button on the top right and scroll through the ones you missed. There were some good ones posted already in January about Bridgeport, local families, WWII soldiers, Civil War veterans, and LTHS football just to mention a few.

Back to the original problem, the company should have started sending the emails again in January but that didn’t happen.  And it was the MONEY again.  So, we have paid up but are only entitled to send 5000 emails a month. Seems like a lot, right? Not when there are 606 of you who read the blog every day.  That will limit us to about 2 posts a week.

So. . .Are you addicted to the blog? Do you have trouble going to sleep at night until you have read a Lawrencelore story? Do you want to keep getting it every weekday?  Well, it’s all about the MONEY.  There’s that word again.  We need it. Hopefully you got it...

It will cost about $500 a year to have the blogs sent every day. If you are a business, will you sponsor us? If you are an individual and enjoy reading our blogs, will you donate? Please help us keep Lawrence County History alive on the web.

(And if you subscribed but changed your email, and are getting two, or GASP, don’t want to receive the blog anymore at all, kindly unsubscribe to lower our number being sent out. It’s all about the MONEY.)

Thank you as always for your support and compliments and for being faithful readers. Preserving local history depemds on all of us doing our share. Donna lawrencelore@gmail.com
