HAVOLINE COLLECTION TO BE FEATURED
Local realtor and auctioneer Zane Parrott will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of
the Lawrence County Historical Society on Monday, September 30, 7:00 p.m., at the History Center in Lawrenceville.
For many years, Parrott has been a collector of advertising memorabilia and other items
associated with Havoline motor oil. First marketed in 1904 by the Havemeyer Oil Company, the Havoline brand was acquired by the Indian Refining Company in 1909. The Texas Oil Company, later known as Texaco, acquired Indian Refining in 1931, and continued to develop the product’s technology.
Parrott will “show and tell” items from his collection on display. The meeting is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
